The session lasts for 2 hours. You will need to show up about 15 minutes early and are more then welcome to stay afterward and socialize.
The first 20 minutes will be an off-ice introduction to the game including the terminology and the equipment. The next 40 minutes will consist of on-ice instruction where you will learn to sweep and deliver a stone. After you have perfected the delivery and sweeping you will move on to play in a game with other people in the Learn-to-Curl.
| No. You just need to bring a clean pair of tennis shoes. All other equipment will be provided by the club. |
There is no minimum age. If the participant is under 18 years of age then their legal guardian will need to sign a liability release form. The suggested minimum age is 12 but if you have someone that is under that age that is eager to come out and give it a try then we will work with them.
| We are located at Hobart Arena in Troy Ohio. More detailed directions to the arena can be found here at the arena's website. |
Absolutely! Bring all your friends on out. The more the merrier. They are more than welcome to come sit in the warmroom and watch a Learn-to-Curl session or even league play.
We are hoping to have enough interest in curling in Dayton to offer more ice time but some of the area ice rinks are cautious in giving their ice time to new organizations. The more interest that we have the more likely that we will have more ice. We currently have ice time booked through August. It is our intent to start a charter instructional league with the rest of the ice time but we will play it by ear.
